AliveCor, a maker of electrocardiogram devices, recently commissioned Milliman to conduct an analysis on the cost of healthcare claims for commercially insured and Medicare Advantage (MA) members that is associated with hypertension and Atrial fibrillation (AFib), as well as select comorbidities among those individuals. The study illustrates the potential for savings resulting from interventions that may improve care management for these conditions. After some background and executive summary, the report dives into results, using data from Milliman’s research database from 2016 to 2019.
